Does Bank AI move money on my N26 account?

No. Bank AI is read-only by design. Transfers, Spaces top-ups and card payments continue to happen inside the N26 app. Bank AI surfaces balances, transactions and spend totals; every action remains in N26.

Are N26 Spaces visible inside Bank AI?

Yes - each Space is read as its own sub-balance under your N26 connection, so a Holiday Space, a Rent buffer and a joint Space with your partner show separately rather than collapsing into the main current-account balance.

Does N26 still hold my money?

Yes. N26 is a fully licensed bank under BaFin (Germany), with deposit insurance up to 100,000 EUR per depositor under the German Compensation Scheme. Bank AI never holds your money - we only read the data you authorise via PSD2.

What happens if N26 raises a connectivity error?

PSD2 connections occasionally require re-authentication (the 90-day SCA refresh) or fail because of an N26-side maintenance window. Bank AI shows a clear status pill on the connection and prompts you to re-authenticate without losing any of your data.

Does Bank AI work with N26 Standard, Smart, You and Metal?

Yes. The connection is at account level, not at plan level - any N26 plan with a current account is read identically. The plan's own monthly fee is detected as a recurring subscription.

Is my N26 data stored outside the EU?

No. Bank AI processes account data in EU regions by default, with AES-256 encryption and EU-region key management. N26 itself is the deposit-holder under BaFin supervision; Bank AI is the read-only viewer on top.
