Does Bank AI move money on my PayPal account?

Why does my bank statement also show PayPal charges? Will they double-count?

No. Bank AI's categorisation cascade detects when a card-on-file charge on your bank statement is settled by PayPal and links the two events as one expense, not two. The result is one merchant line per real payment, not double-counting.

Does PayPal have an EU banking licence?

Yes. PayPal (Europe) S.a r.l. et Cie, S.C.A. is a Luxembourg-incorporated bank under CSSF supervision, passported across the EU. The UK entity (PayPal UK Ltd) is FCA-authorised. Customer balances are protected under the relevant deposit-protection rules; Bank AI never holds your money.

What about my seller business on PayPal?

Marketplace payouts (eBay, Etsy, Vinted, freelance work) are tagged separately so business income vs. personal spend is clearly delineated. The categorisation taxonomy keeps them in their own bucket rather than mixing with consumer-spend lines.

What happens if PayPal raises a connectivity error?

Open-banking connections occasionally require re-authentication (the 90-day SCA refresh) or fail because of a PayPal-side maintenance window. Bank AI shows a clear status pill and prompts you to re-authenticate without losing any of your data.

Is my PayPal data stored outside the EU?
